Here I will talk about Bucky's appearances in movies/shows. Will mostly just glaze him and talk about how hot he is when he's being tortured, but i do have some criticisms on some of these. Spoilerfull.
Yep, this is THE Bucky movie. Absolute greatness, start to finish, definetly his best appearance EVER in the MCU, and definetly the movie that made us all fall in love with him.
Before his first real appearance, i'd like to mention his museum section at the Smithsonian, which makes me irrationally angry because they couldn't proofread their shit and ended up giving him two separate birthyears on the same fucking section :))). Glorious. Ugh. I think its like, a typo? but still wild that this went thru, but again, this is the mcu after all they only ever are good on accident -_-. We got a cute vid of him laughing with Steve tho :3. Also the scene is a good reminder of his character from the 1st movie, because despite everything i know his role was pretty forgettable there :p.
Well, now on to the GOOD STUFF, and HOLY FUCK is the stuff damn good. The cinematography of Fury slowly noticing him in the distance, the slow focus on him, just standing there, full front facing the car going straight at him, the bomb blowing up the car so that it nearly instantly goes straight up VERTICAL, and SOLDIERS SLOW, CASUAL, COMPLETELY NONCHALANT SLIDE AWAY FROM THE PATH OF THE VEHICLE, MY FUCKING GOD THIS IS PEAKKKKKK. THIS IS THE BEST FUCKING INTRODUCTION THEY COULD HAVE POSSIBLY GIVEN HIM. ABSOLUTELY INSANE. The way he just comes off as... completely unfazed and in control of the situation. Scary motherfucker. And then he slowly walks towards Fury. Too slowly. Fury gets away. Very tense moment in the movie itself, but a git silly when thinking about it. I like this micromoment of characterisation. Depending how you interpret it, he can come off as overconfident and cocky or as uncaring, subconciously not wanting to do his mission. Or maybe youre a realist and dont see it as anything else as Furys plot armor. Im not too mad about them undermining my goat tho, as the next scene was also incredibly fucking good. Speaking of:
The scene in Steves flat is basically The Introduction of The Winter Soldier: Part Two, and its as fucking lovely as it sounds. Steve and Fury are in a very suspenseful double conversation, revealing that SHIELD is compromised. This is already a very tense scene with a great sense of urgency, but then Fury gets shot multiple times thru the chest at an NEAR IMPOSSIBLE angle. In case if you dont remember: Fury is not sitting in a way that would be seen in any of the windows, so tell me if im wrong or missing something, but Soldier hitting that shot is absolutely FUCKING INSANE. And DO NOT tell me that its a plothole or oversight or comic logic or whatever: Bucky is just THAT GOATED. He did it with his SUPER SNIPER SKILLS that you are TOO LAME to be privy of. Fuck you.
Anyway, Steve being goated too notices Winter Soldier escaping and gives chase once Carter enters his apartament and takes care of Fury. And the chase scene is insane, Steve just SHREDS THRU the office to get his ass, them going hand in hand is absolutely glorious to watch. Steve catches up to the assassin at a rooftop and throws his shield at him, and he CATCHES IT, gives Steve a DEEP, cold, but ever so slightly pained and melancholic look into his eyes, and then THROWS IT BACK AT HIM HARD ENOUGH TO MAKE HIM SLIDE. HOLY FUCK. Menacing moment. Can you imagine being Steve seeing this shit??? I know DAMN WELL a cold sweat graced his ass. AND ON TOP OF THAT HE JUST... DISAPPEARS in the few seconds Steve wasnt watching him. 10/10 scene. Peak Fiction. Absolute cinema. Best mcu movie. AND were only 2 scenes in. Holy fuck. This is a great eestablishing scene for Soldiers sheer skill, strenght and danger. Lovely and delish~~
Okay, the next time we see him he literally just sits in the background and does fuckall but he still manages to be cold as fuck. When Pierce casually enters the kitchen and we se this menace of a man just chilling at his table.... hoolyyyy fuck HE LOOKS SO SEX!!!!!!!! The way his mask is off but the shadow is still blocking his face... his nonchalant sitting.... godd this scene is so fucking cold. And hot. Also the way je seems a bit saddened when Pierce jokingly offers him milk... its like he knows hes being made fun of but cant do anything abt it.... or maybe im just going insane idk. anyway yeah amazing fucking scene i love it. He manages to steal the show by just being there his aura is actually just fucking unmatched.
